The discussion of the ethical use of Adobe PhotoShop to edit images for marketing
Since photoshop is the magic creator for the marketers, is it possible to change the original texture of the images? The answer is absolute.
Customers can be easily attracted by the fabulous advertisement pictures edited by photoshop, but what if they find out the real product is way different than the thing showed on the picture. Do the customers have a right to be angry? Is it ethical for the markers to change the real texture of the product by using photoshop?
My answer would be: yes, they have a right to be angry, and it's not ethical for the markers to change the real texture of the product by using photoshop.
We use photoshop to make things better instead of changing things for marketing. We are allowed to create a nice background or add some attractive logos to the picture of the product, or even add a beam of light to the product, but not the product itself.
It's not worth destroying the customer loyalty by using something which is supposed to make things better.
